When we were young we moved to Colorado, Denver. Living conditions in Denver in 1990’s were “hood” and basically the ghetto. We moved up north to Dacono, Firestone and then finally settled in Longmont.
Why did we move so much, my mother was a single mother raising three kids on her own with a minimal English language.
As we moved up northern, we raised ourselves. Since my mother worked nights at Longmont Foods (which doesn’t exist now, factory shut down, many undocumented and Mexicans worked!) it was up to us to figure out who had authority of whom. This is where my Lawyer in me began, I began negotiating and asking questions.
Again I learned at an early age a woman with many questions was frowned upon. So I spent hours at the library, not skipping a beat on an encyclopedia volume. I read, read, read, wrote. I’d create my own reports on many different subjects like once I created a book report on Shakespeare at an early age of 12 where most people don’t read Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet until Middle school. I was only in elementary school, what did I know about vengeance and love.
My family is very well dedicated to the arts, reading, and music. We tend to connect when it has to do with heavily topics of politics, educations, music, and news. We’re fascinated that we once had a phone line that connected to a computer and we urged every single moment of our lives to be interested with the internet.
I was the head of a household at an early age, 15. I was working full time and going to school part time. I was involved in the workforce and began making money for the house. As I kept working I was continuing my education.
The incredible opportunities that I have lead have been in various departments of the service industry that made me continue to asking questions.
I have lead these positions:
- Bank Teller
- Automotive Tire Salesman
- Mechanic for Two Leading Companies
- Cell Phone Salesman
- Cell Phone repair Technician
- Computer Technician
- Real Estate Investor
- Victoria Secret Salesman
- Nurses Assistant
- Lawyer Assistant
- Photography (my best interest)
- Web designer
- Public Relations
- Policy Analysis *
I’ve done many things and it hasn’t held me back one bit.
and I’m still alive…
This has come to say, I’ve never put down a challenge, I get things done, I’m a strategic planner. I’m not scared to fail. If you see my work ethic I #molcajegrind all the way.
I ask questions and I don’t let any other peoples opinions bother me. I’ve learned the hard knocks of life because I was it. I was the HBIC, I had no other people to depend on.
That’s why seeking leadership positions are my key interests.
I’m outspoken because my culture has been torn apart and washed through the rivers of the Rio Grande and never to be heard of again.
When I make representation I make it to let people know that I’m a Latina with huevos because yet again, there’s been every block thrown at me, but what I did I built a foundation on those same blocks.
